I had the honor and pleasure to be asked to second shoot with Brooke Marcellino of Josie Pix on June 28th for the wedding of Amber and Clara. I was paired off with Clara and her girls to get ready, and spent the next hour laughing my ass off (thanks especially to Tammy for that) and witnessing an impromptu can-can. In the grass. In heels. Those of you who know me will take me at my word knowing I can’t make this stuff up.
And the first look…I can’t remember a first look so tender as the one shared by these wonderful, joyful women. Luckily it was hot enough so that my tears evaporated before anyone noticed.
The ceremony took place at Lakewood’s Mile Hi Church, which was beautifully lit in purples and blues. You know, spaceship colors.
By evening’s end, I’d been witness to a touching declaration of so obviously true love. And, as the plump red cherry on the top of this incredible sundae, Amber got behind the piano and, channeling Randy Newman (I know he’s not dead…yet) if he’d had the voice of Joan Sutherland, performed a song she’d written for Clara commemorating their life together. Again, I’m happy it was so damned hot.
Thank you, Josie Pix, for letting me tag along. And thank you, thank you Clara and Amber for letting me into your lives long enough to share this incredible day with you.
