I can’t believe I’ve known the incomparable Jerry Baker for 6 years now. Unique and genuine and steadfast and funny and kind, on my end that’s both why I’ve stayed close from two states away and why I consider myself so insanely lucky to know I have someone like Jerry, and there is only one Jerry, as a brother. The wedding was like a reunion of old friends, like the last episode of ‘Lost’ had the last episode of ‘Lost’ been enjoyable. More than enjoyable. One of the best nights of my life: as a professional photographer, and as a friend seeing her friend marry a woman he is so clearly in love with and with whom he is so fantastically matched. Kseniya is a sweetheart, a beaming magnanimous sweetheart. I can’t say yet which of the two is luckier, but there have been worse pushes in the history of the universe, so I think I’m satisfied.
Kseniya’s family pulled off the whole event, from the home-cooked food to the elaborate and delicious desserts. I want this known: I have been to A TON of weddings and, as most of you know, I almost always find a way to get fed. The Baker-Ivanova wedding had the best wedding food I have ever had. No joke. No lie. No smoke blowing. It was delicious. And it was plentiful. My husband ate so much he couldn’t speak, and for those of you who know my husband, shutting up is not his strongest suit.
What a wonderful time was had. I could not be happier for the happy couple. Congratulations, you two! Thanks for having us along!
